About the Author
KosukeGW: Going to GW
I've been in to RM2K for a while now. I kept tampering with Rpg maker 2000 but I never actually made a full version game before. Nor have I been skipping around any RM2K websites. I use to make random cinematics time by time to go along with all the Danny Elfman music I had because it was fun and it was a neat mini hobby. Since I use to play and enjoy all the Snes/Rpg games, it was kinda fun seeing myself make the characters move the way I pleased.
So besides that I've never made a game. I excel in making cinemas in Rpg maker 2003. I can do a few other things too like making a few graphics, write some really good midi's and stuff but mainly it's all cinema.
When I got to the point that a lot of my movies in RM2K looked just like how the professionals did it, I decided to get a little more involved with RM2K. To my surprise it was a giant community filled with all different types of websites and people. All trying to promote a game or make an article or just talk about simple stuff in Rpg maker. The one website the most took my interest most was this place called Gaming World. I stayed I while and downloaded tons of games from other people. I familiarized myself with all the popular members such as Bart, Mr. Y, Mateui, Erave etc. I heard all this stuff about staff and then I said to myself "Why don't I try out for staff?".....But before I do that, why don't I actually make a game?
So I searched around GW and gave myself a little tour. For a long time I just went around, playing games, gaining tips, doing my little cinema's (Which I was getting better and better at this each cinema I created). Then I noticed the forums on GW. I signed up and I went to the welcomes and farewells and introduced myself.
While I was there I started noticing people got so many replies posting their game ideas and such. The simplest stories got some feedback. Then I decided to make a small cinema based on my ideas from my soon-to-be-demo. In the meantime I got involved in projects like "Fading Shadows" and almost "The Comedians of GW". In the meantime I wrote the first version of the story to "Beyond Dreams (BD)". Then I posted it and got some valuable feedback.
I didn't put the needed effort into this game when it came to storyline. A few people told me I needed to change it around because they didn't like it. So after that I posted a few screenies of my BD cinema. I got a little more recognition after that. Even still, promoting this game is hard as hell. Since I wasn't doing anything for Rm2K3 I started coming up with these random idea's I could do with it. I asked people on the forum about some random stuff. One of the ideas I came up with was re-making A Blurred Line (Best story in an Rm2K game). This didn't go as I planned. Many people said no to the idea. But then Lysander86 (creator of ABL) said that when my story was done he'd like to look over it. I thought it would be easy to please him but then I relized who I was speaking with. This got me a whole lot more nervous.
Then after a while I remembered how good a writer I myself am. This helped me out a lot. Will this storyline be worthy enough for Lysander to give it a thumbs up? Only time will tell because this is the point were I am at now...
